Mao Zedong - Ceramic

This time a pottery of the Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong. The cult of the figure of this leader has bequeathed us innumerable representations of the same as a man of the people, so at the base we find the motto "at the service of the people" "为人民服务".

The cult of Mao promoted by Lin Biao was one of the bases of the cultural revolution and at that time it was usual to find its image in all kinds of buildings, shops and homes throughout China. Even today his image is common in the halls of many households in rural areas.

Sculptures like these were created all over the country and are easy to find in any antique business or even new copies in art and ceramic stores.

To scan this ceramic 57cm high and a base of 16cm x 16cm, we made a photogrammetry of 73 photos. Due to the glare and glare of the enamelled surface it would have been advisable to use a circular polarizing filter to remove the reflections from the photos. As it was an improvised work in one of our trips, we did not have this filter, so we built the model with some defects and later with manual work we have reduced it in 3D modeling software.

For these reasons we decided on this occasion to publish the model only in its free version, since the version of much detail does not have the quality suitable for our standards.

Updated!: This model has been reupload after some detail corrections such the flat nose. 2017/May
